Flower splendour in the Castle’s Garden

The garden was laid out at the beginning of the 18th century. Versailles’ gardens served as a source of inspiration. In the second half of the 18th century, the garden was adapted to the English landscape style. Later during the early 1980s, it was restored back to their original design. Middachten’s garden exhibits a range of different garden elements, including a rose garden, a fragrant herb garden, an open-air theatre with yew hedges, and there are also large lawns and many rare tree species. During your visit you can relax in the “Oranjerie” and enjoy a tea or coffee with a small snack.

Castle with centuries-old interior

Middachten castle in its current form was built at the end of the 17th century. The estate and the castle have always been in family ownership, allowing for the preservation of authentic furniture and objects within the castle which are still on display today. Middachten castle is not just a museum, but a house that is actively used. Upon entrance, visitors will be drawn in by the atmosphere within the castle.

Bed & Breakfast

There are three stylish double rooms above the coach house, each with its own character. Each of the rooms has its own bathroom and has a view which looks out over the castle courtyard. 

A delicious extensive breakfast with regional product is served in the renowned restaurant “La Maison Du Steeg’. This is located at +/- 8 minutes walking distance from the B&B. The starting time for breakfast is between 08:30 and 10:00 AM.
